It has been quite awhile since I have written anything on my blog.  I was on hiatus for a bit.  I had applied to receive some help from Mercy Corp NW.  A process that took much longer than I had thought it would yet a process that was well worth it in the end.  I have been able to receive some much needed tools ect. that I needed to move forward with Alice’s Secret Door. Last week I was able to create a few new pieces and hope to keep up with everything.

Some new collections

by Sharon on December 9, 2011

I have started some new collections of earrings that I am having a lot of fun with.   My friend Tumi inspired a collection.  I think I am going to call it the “Tumi Rain” collection.  Basically any thing I make with rain looking beads, chain and even birds are part of this collection.  Another collection I have started creating were my “Circus”  collection.  In this collection I am using lots of buttons, chain and added tiny beads to create a Carnivale sort of look.  I was creating a few at a show I recently did and I was looking across at a clothing designer called Circle Couture who was really inspiring me with her pieces and many earring in this collection were created at that fair.  Lately I have been dreaming of Paris and you will see some of my pieces that are inspired by those dreams.  Here a few of my new pieces.

I took a clay metal class yesterday at Dava Bead and Trade.  Clay metal is a a product created in Japan.  Someone figured out a way to collect and recycle fine silver and turn it into the Clay Metal product.  What it is, from my understanding, is microscopic pieces of silver combined with an organic [...]
